6. Does the Finnish Nutrition Navigator take special diets into account?

The Finnish Nutrition Navigator does not currently take special diets or significant dietary restrictions into account.

Be aware that your dietary restrictions may affect your final score.

7. How long will my result be stored?

Your code and results will be stored for two years, after which they will be deleted. Anonymous data will be stored after this for research purposes

8. Can I use the Finnish Nutrition Navigator at school as part of teaching?

The Finnish Nutrition Navigator is based on the nutritional recommendations for adults (18–74 years old). If your students are around 18 years old, the Finnish Nutrition Navigator may be suitable for checking their eating habits. Nutrition is an individual matter where the goal is not to aim for perfection or compare yourself to others.

The Finnish Nutrition Navigator can be used in teaching to spark discussion and to find positive sides in one’s own eating habits that support wellbeing. Note that the Finnish Nutrition Navigator assesses only how the dietary recommendations are met and it does not take other factors associated with eating and food into account that may also have an impact on a young person’s eating and wellbeing.

9. Can a municipality, wellbeing services county or parties that do research get and utilise the data gathered in the Finnish Nutrition Navigator?

Yes, in principle this is possible, but this kind of procedure has not been developed yet. If you are interested in this matter, please contact us. To this day, we have gathered data since November 2024.

10. The Finnish Nutrition Navigator does not find my feedback with the code I received. What should I do?

Check if there is a zero, letter O, 1 or letter I in the code. Try if the symbol you read as a number is in fact a letter, or a symbol you read as a letter a number. Check also that you have entered all the symbols correctly as capital letters and numbers. If you cannot make the code work you have to fill in the Finnish Nutrition Navigator again.

11. The Finnish Nutrition navigator does not work at all. What could be the reason for this?

Check first that your internet connection works. Alternatively, there may be an ongoing maintenance break in the Finnish Nutrition Navigator, but we will notify about this on the main page. Try again later.

12. Can I use the Finnish Nutrition Navigator with my client who has a foreign background?

There will be an English version of the Finnish Nutrition Navigator by the end of 2025, which will expand its range of uses. Note that the Finnish Nutrition Navigator is based on the Finnish nutritional recommendations and Finnish food culture and therefore all given food examples may not apply to a very different food culture.
